| Brett was born in Moscow, Idaho and moved to Atlanta, Georgia when she was 3 years-old. She grew up in Atlanta and started taking photography classes at The Lovett School when she was 14.
Unlike most photographers her age she can develop both black and white, color and slide film and make prints in a darkroom! The summer between high school and college she worked for a custom photo printing lab called E-6 in Atlanta. She went to the University of Georgia and earned degrees in Journalism Photography and Spanish. During school she studied photography in Cortona, Italy and did an internship at the Barcelona Metropolitan a magazine in Barcelona, Spain. She also did work for the Red &Black, Athens Eco-Latino, Athens Banner-Herald and Newnan Times Herald. After graduation she got a job as a staff photographer at one of the leading newspapers in the southeast, the Chattanooga Times Free Press. In her spare time she can be found with her cat Lady Matador, or her camera El Fandila. She enjoys cooking and sewing, though she is much better at photography! Her favourite food is pumpkin and she has been a vegetarian since she was 5 years-old. |
